Denise Albrecht

Vice Chair

Denise Albrecht is a Certified Safety Professional with over ten years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety field. She graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and went to work for 3M as a Manufacturing Engineer doing project work at different sites around the United States. Denise has always had a passion for safety and decided to pursue that passion by taking a job within 3M as an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer in one of the departments at the 3M Hutchinson facility. In 2008, she took on additional responsibility and became the training coordinator for her department. Here she worked to ensure that EHS aspects were incorporated into the training. In 2009, Denise transitioned into an EHS Engineer for the Hutchinson site, where she focused on major equipment installations and support for site wide safety programs.

Denise is also a member of the University of Minnesota Duluth Chemical Engineering Industrial Advisory Committee. Through this committee she has worked with faculty at UMD to ensure that EHS concepts are incorporated into the Chemical Engineer curriculum. She has also been a guest speaker on Process Safety Management to the senior design classes.

Denise and her husband Jon, reside in Hutchinson, Minnesota with their two small children, Nathaniel, 5 and Joshua, 3. She enjoys spending weekends at the lake, running, reading and traveling with the family.
