Every April 28, workers from across the globe remember colleagues who lost their lives through a workplace accident. In the U.S., about 4,600 workers die on the job each year. Many were parents, leaving families vulnerable and unable to pay for college.
The ASSE Foundation created the Family Scholarship Fund to help these families afford that dream.
Tristan Bainum lost his dad at 12 years old. Struggling to make ends meet in college, he applied for the Family Scholarship Fund in 2016. Tristan describes how the scholarship changed his life and encourages others to apply for it.
